Creature and Item Blueprint creators needed!

Well, ideally we want a monster for every appearance, and I merged the Beldin and Sigil creature haks, so we have a few more appearances (speaking of which, if you run across a bug flipping through the creatures, tell me--I didn't double check them all). Since NWN2 doesn't have some basics like beholders, that means we get to make our own blueprint. . .

Outsiders have first priority over other monsters since we're going to be running into them more frequently in the planes. If I was doing it, I'd flip through the monster manual and just start making stuff, adjusting CR's to arrange them all at regular intervals (like CR 3, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, 24, 27, 30). Of course, you don't have to feel like you have to stick with typical DnD stuff. I've always thought the monster manual(s) sold a lot of concepts short.

In addition to the builder module and haks, I've found the inCharacter plugin (found here) to be useful in making creatures. It lets you import PCs as toolset critters--I think its easier to "level up" something that way, and it keeps you from assigning something more feats that it "ought" to have.

This is a step that's easy, but time consuming, and I never manage to give it the love it deserves. The world will be much nicer if we have lots of creatures and items about for DM's to use, and its a fairly beginner friendly task for those whose toolsets work. So if somebody wants to tackle it, that would be great. :)

Creatures are most important, and range from NPCs in the town to random encounters in the planes, with the town NPCs having the highest priority. Right off the top of my head we need a list something like this:

Town NPCs:

- The wizard-family who live at the top of the hill

- Innkeeper / Barkeep and his employees/ assisstants / tavern wenches

- A variety of Orcish Pirates

- Githzerai Monks

- Planar Merchants and Travelers

Stats don't matter too much, though I assume most of the above are not epic level (possible exceptions being the archmage head of the family, or the githzerai abbot), but are also above level one (well, barmaids can be level 1).

Other creatures:

- Celestial / Angelic creatures from CR 3-30

- Demonic creatures from CR 3-30

- Devilish creatures from CR 3-30

- Yugoloths or other NE creatures from CR 3-30

Ok, this sounds kind of fun actually. I have my toolset working, so, I could probably do some work on this. How many kinds of monsters do you think we might want?

Shall do what I can when I can. I'll be focusing most of my efforts on creating new models or textures, but i'll see about doing NPC's and monsters too.

Knowing me, and, I do, I don't think I'll be doing anything typical D&D. *cackles*

Yeah, i definitely have no idea what I'm doing. I wish I had played with this more early on, or, it was a bit more like the nwn 1 toolset, which I had a small amount of proficiency with. >

NWN2 creature and item creation is basically the same as NWN1, though there might be new tabs.

I offer this tutorial which may be of help: Toolset Manual. Just skip down to the part on creatures. :)
