So our original concept was to mostly use Vault areas to give us settings to work with. We need areas that can stand in for various planes with some tweaking (infernal, abyssal, upper, maybe even elemental planes). We also need areas for primes we might want to represent. If various terrain types aren't represented by the above, we might want those as generic event areas too.
What I can provide from Beldin:
- Mountainous / rolling rocky plains
- Prime world forest and farm areas
- Fugue Plane (Do we really need it? No, but we have it!)
- Many miscellaneous interiors
- 2 infernal-ish areas
- Ruinous areas that would be good for shadow / negative energy plane areas.
I'm also making the town area (basically done), maybe some astral rocks, and our ship interior. I also have a Limbo set of areas that I made for Sigil.
But, combing through the vault for everything else takes time, so if anybody wants to start that process and start posting links to good quality areas that would be great.
A forgotten Village that kind of looks to possibly be in a swamp area.to me. Reminds me a bit of some of the ruins in the Blood Bayou. on Scarn. http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=NWN2PrefabAreas.Detail&id=392
here is another possible area.. http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=NWN2PrefabAreas.Detail&id=590
Just picking out random areas that may or may not be of interest. so check em out. if they may be of use for anyone's story arcs let us know. http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=NWN2PrefabAreas.Detail&id=486
I'm thinking of making a few Aesyr space void type areas and caverns. Most of the world is gone but there are still a few pockets left that are livable. They will mostly be inhabited by ghosts and shadows feeding off of anything still living.
Is there a Chance we can get a list of what areas we have maps for? That way we can hopefully get some inspiration from them for our Campaign building?
How many levels deep a zone is is really a matter of function.
I have... wall of text snipped...
Mechanus is a bit iffy, there's not really much out there that'd do it justice. To get it right might require some 3D work instead of trying to piece it together from external sources.
And seems that I failed to read the later post from you... *sigh* Anyway.

How many levels deep a zone is is really a matter of function.
I have: - Limbo (random 12x12 areas) - Ysgard (large rolling hills and mountain, along with a dwarven citadel) - Celestia (5+ mountainous and valley areas, ending with a monastery) - Gehenna (volcano with tower, lava caves) - Arborea (4+ desert areas, 2 small underwater areas, hopefully one elven town that looks like Rivendell) - Hades (many wasteland areas, using the Pestilent Lands prefabs linked to above; also includes the town Death-of-Innocence) - Carcerie (plains, 2 jungle areas, prison area, and one sandbar--no, they don't all go together) - Acheron (two dungeony-maze areas, meant to represent Ocanthus) - Primes (only definite is a lovely set of snowcovered cabins and wilderness, but there's a lot to pick from here) - Shadow (ruined town, hilly plains, possibly ruined city and gorge) - Elysium (swamp and lovely little town with lighthouse--meant to be the Belerin layer) - Beastlands (haven't made up my mind, lots to choose from, but it will be foresty) - Astral town. . . with as yet undefined interiors (though I did find this great underground pirate cave I want to fit in somewhere) - Abyss (one area that is meant to be the plane of infinite portals, maybe a demonic fortress, mushroom caves, possibly an Androlynne layer area, and I am still looking--everybody builds forests, nobody builds the abyss) - Baator (hoping to cobble together Cania, have one area for the city of Dis, and one firey area)
. . . there might be more, but that's what I remember right off. We are tragically lacking in anything anywhere than can be used for Mechanus. :(
Can offer my Halmadrian ship as well. Was made as a special type of massive spelljammer (albeit styled more in a dungeon punk/ sci fi way), and given the setting, it might come in handy. Can post shots of in the proper thread.
As for Mechanus... well, I can't comment on tile sets (will read up on this when other projects are finished), but I can certainly throw together some placeables for it.
