Character Levels are not entirely important when it comes to RP, only when entering combat zones that require characters be of a certain level due to the Challenge rating of the creatures in the zone. And as it stands the gear that the characters have can always be RPed as well without having the actual items on the character's inventory. We are only using NWN2 as a prop set for visual representation since we are not all in the same location with maps or dry erase boards to depict what is going on spatially. If we opt to have fresh versions of our characters it will allow for the scaling of encounters to be easier as we'll all be roughly in the same level range.yes we won't have the spiffy dazzling goodies the high level characters have on sigil but it allows for an easier time of encounters with the denizens of the plans to go a bit smoother without having a really low HP character due to lvl variance being smashed instantly while the upper levels manage to survive the mechanics of the game. lvl shouldn't dictate option to rp. So i'd just say roll fresh characters that are stand ins for the original character on sigil. That way we can as players advance together though rp.

Or Cryptc. They are the ones I pmed to request. Cryptc would probbly be best as I think they've access to the server physically where as I dont think MR O does.

As long as I can have my Hopemourne longsword, I really don't mind either way. *rolls his eyes*
PnP style would be more fun on the long run, though, I'd prefer if we could start from mid level (~8-10) just so our characters will atleast have some of their original features properly represented.
I would rather not go into "lets RP every item/ encounter/ battle" at the expense of using the game for what it is. That includes items with actual properties that can actually be used in the game.
Not against RPing stuff, but I do like actually playing too.
Scaling back levels? Uh....really go either way on this one. I'd rather to just keep things as they are so we can take off at exactly the point we all left off at, but I'm not super finicky about it. I would however, prefer that we either transfer or remake equipment, because acquiring all of that stuff was very much a part of our progression thus far, and the idea here (far as I thought) was that we're continuing from that point, not rebooting everything.
...also, I like getting to keep and use shiny equipment that I've worked for :P .
Anyhow, bottom line;
First preference: just transfer character files without needing to relevel/ remake/ start over Next best thing: Scale back levels a bit (not down to 1), keep old gear. Do not want: Start from level 1, trash gear earned so far (RP is fine, but these things do give your pc tangible boosts that can't just be supposed when it comes to rolls either).
I am with Taurus on this, just lets get our characters transferred. RP challenges will still remain as challenging I believe, scaling back is not really neccessary.
8-10 is a nice level range for DnD in general, but not for the planes. Planescape favors epics when you look at the types of monsters that wander around in high numbers. Granted, there -are- things that you can still face at lower levels, but there's so many chances for total party kills.
Having a bit of room to still advance while playing is nice, so maybe we want to shave a few levels off of the level 30's, but there's a lot to be said for actually having the abilities your character is supposed to have.
Points taken. I'm assuming that some of you are unable to acess the forums to request your character files. so pm me or poke me on steam and I'll request your files. am.marie.carruthers@gmail.com should be the email you'll need to find me. since Emiryn seems to be rather common. Pink explody star Icon.
(as a side note, I don't see planning encounters for this group as being that hard. DM's will certainly have to get used to the group's strengths and weaknesses, but that's the case at every level. For a band of epics, from what I've seen of everyone's abilities, we're hardly invincible. . )
Alrighty folks. For those of you who have not done so, you will need to request your own PC files as they would rather not hand out other's PC's so you'll get a link to a drop box with your files then you'll want to either down load them yourselves or send the link to me so i can get them set up on the server.
Mimi and I have our files, will send them to you....soonish.
While we are on the subject of importing; if anyone needs any item remade for whatever reason (visual modifications, property adjustment because some of our systems may be different from Sigil's), let me know.
alright I'll be transferring character files to the server soon as I get them. The current concern is if the custom scripts in the character files from SCOD will cause an issue when the game attempts to search for scripts that aren't there.
Don't worry about that. Custom scripts in Sigil were mainly module side (there are only a few things PW's can do to modify character files, and its expensive in time). I checked Sasha and all the PC scripts are default. We're more likely to have an outfit or two not look the same because I have to renumber something, which is not going to cause instability.
Transfer. A carbon copy. Mir has a lot of equipment that is *unique* to her, in no way attainable by anyone else - partially this is because the said items incorporate mechanics that represent her species - and species-wise, she's unique ... there's no other like her, anywhere.
You might want to check other things causing problems though. Special materials, ones created by Loki or Cere, and the magical tattooes for that matter. Those are tied to the characters "skin" no idea how that will work without the sigil HAKs and TLKs. Though most of my stuff including the build could be easily remade, I might just opt for building Mash again in the aurora, and giving you the .bic.
The tattoos are just items, and the special materials are in name only. But, I believe the tattoos have custom icons, so they'll probably look pretty funny in your inventory (the wonderful missing texture square). The special item sets won't transfer, though.
